| The
World’s Biggest Amethyst Geode
Within our Hong Kong office is the world’s largest
amethyst geode discovered in Brazil (Rio Grande Do Sul)
in 1923. This rare giant weighs 1,239 kg and took six
months to excavate. The Amethyst geode has a chemical
formula of silicon oxide (SiO2). This is truly a superior
feng shui stone. The heavily condensed Amethyst points
in the interior of the stone create positive energy
resonance which is beneficial in many aspects, such
as health, wealth and good fortune. This one of a kind
gemstone is suitable for the living room area of homes
or within offices.
What’s
In Fashion
At Jewellery City, we are constantly sourcing for the
latest and most fashionable stones and styles to keep
our customers chic and elegant. One of our current store
favourites is the quartz, chalcedony. It comes in many
colours but the latest trends are towards the purple
and lavender versions. The stones vary from translucent
to opaque and some may have a soft, milky lustre, while
others display a blend of dark and light hues. The gem
chalcedony is named for the ancient seaport of Chalcedon
in present-day Turkey, just a short distance from Istanbul.
Chalcedony has been used as talismans and adornments
for centuries. The popularity of chalcedony has much
to do with its durability and hardness as well as its
wide range of colours. |
